Genoa, in the middle of the 16th century, is the largest trading city in the Mediterranean. The many trading houses compete to be the richest and most profitable. But to be succesful, they must sometimes cooperate. The players take the roles of traders in Genoa. They fulfill orders, deliver messages, and take ownership of important buildings in the city.
